Do you trust in developing your skill through a demo account?

There are too many conflicting topics about it and I want to clearly know the answer among your opinions.
So do you think that practicing on a demo or a practice account can develop your true skills in trading the forex market?
Some says no because they say the using a demo account puts you on a situation where there are no risk at all. While on a live account you are at full risk and cannot afford to loss so you have to put all of your effort just not to get lost. So which of the two has the advantage?
